North Star Science School Returns for Fifth Annual Event in South Yorkshire

The fifth annual North Star Science School event is returning to South Yorkshire this November. This event is set to bring together young people, educators, scientists and businesses for a day filled with exploration and discovery in the realms of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics (STEAM).

North Star Science School will take place on 20 November 2024 at the amazing Gulliver’s Valley Resort, in Rotherham. Organised by The Work-wise Foundation, an employer-led and inspired charity, in collaboration with Well North Enterprises, this event promises to be an enriching experience for all attendees.

John Barber, CEO of The Work-wise Foundation, said: “Last year, bookings for this event sold out within a week! I love to see how keen schools are to get involved with North Star Science School, especially with our co-created workshops. The event gives young people the chance to get hands-on with activities and workshops organised and presented by local businesses, and exposes them to what is available to them in the world of work.”

The Work-wise Foundation has continuously improved the event each year based on feedback received by schools, businesses and volunteers. Building on the success of last year’s event, the 2024 event will feature a similar structure with a greater number of workshops than speaker slots. Based on feedback from the 2023 event, there will be no virtual speakers showcased at this year’s even, ensuring a more immersive an interactive experience for all participants

As preparations for the fifth annual North Star Science School unfold, anticipation is running high for what promises to be an unforgettable day of STEAM exploration and learning.

North Star Science School 2024 bookings will open to schools on Thursday 30 May. This event is only open to Year 8 and 9 students. If you would like to book for a Home School student, please contact beth@work-wise.co.uk for more information.
